Yes, we can absolutely help you navigate this process. The first step is to contact our friendly jewellery buying team, and during this appointment we can work with you to determine the right outcome for your unique circumstances. Some things we would typically see in these kinds of situations include sorting non-precious items from valuable jewellery, organising valuations for the estate and repairing or remodelling items. If you have items in your collection that we would be interested in acquiring, we will at this stage make an offer to purchase.
We take into account a variety of factors when making an offer to purchase your jewellery.
Metal Value
Precious metals have value based on the purity and weight of the gold, platinum or silver. The offer we give you is based on the daily market price.
Craftsmanship & Design
Jewellery from the past is crafted with many techniques, usually hand-made, with great attention to detail. Designs that are unique or are more intricate examples of craftsmanship have a higher value compared to common designs.
Popularity
With our experience and knowledge of the market we have the expertise to identify popular or trending items. Ever changing fashion trends influence demand for jewellery from certain periods, materials and gemstones. Our most popular pieces are fine coloured gemstone or large diamond rings, and exquisite period jewellery.
Signed and designer jewellery
If the jewellery is a genuine designer piece we absolutely pay a premium for fine signed pieces. The brands we have stocked in our collection include the likes of Cartier, Bvlgari, Rolex, Tiffany and more. In the case of antique and vintage designer jewellery, we may make an offer without original packaging and paperwork. Designer pieces accompanied with the original box and/or paperwork will attract a premium offer.Â
Rarity
Most high-quality antique, vintage and estate jewels are one-of-a-kind, and individually hand crafted. Often, rarity and collectability is predicated solely on the unique character of the piece.
Condition
We do naturally expect to see some signs of wear on antique and estate jewellery. Jewellery that is in pristine original condition is exceptionally rare and will attract a premium. If the jewellery is in need of alterations, repairs or restoration, our offer will take into account costs for us to transform the item into a saleable item.Â
At the time of our assessment, we can discuss with you what your options are with the jewellery we have inspected. We are committed to ensuring the best possible outcome for your unique circumstances, and we will not hesitate to recommend an alternative suited to what you need.
Upon acceptance of our offer we are required to sight and record your valid photo identification. You will need to sign a second-hand purchase ledger and the signature must match the identification provided.Â
Your payment for the items will be transferred to your nominated bank account on the same or next business day.Â
We make all of our payments to your nominated bank account on the same or next business day. We do not pay cash.
Your privacy is our top priority. We handle all transactions with the utmost discretion. Secure, private appointments are made to ensure your confidentiality. When a piece is ready for retail sale your name is not affiliated with any of the item information.
Currently we only buy secondhand jewellery from clients based in Australia.
